- The client requires a lower downtime of production machine due to software components and firmware version update and testing from several stakeholders, as well as unscheduled downtime due to software-machine incompatibility.
The Approach
- Stakeholder analysis to recognize the resources and requirement from each party
- Workshop with Stakeholders for Introduction of Software Testing and DevOps Philosophy
- Creation of regular test pipelines using client’s chosen tools
- Enablement of stakeholders of newly developed process via ad-hoc coaching, detailed process documentation, and weekly status
- Monitoring of process update and offer countermeasures and adjustment
Result & Added Value
- Refactored component test to be ready for automation for each new image processing feature/update
- Guided unit-test planning for Smoke Test and a shortened Release Test on production machine, reducing 24 hours to 8 hours test through parallelization
- Established automated pipeline test with easier test result analysis for each version of the product at different time intervals
- Detailed documentation of new process and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipeline
